As we continue to grow our Environmental Services practice, we're seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Compliance Professional to join our team in Connecticut.
If you're an environmental professional who enjoys balancing technical expertise, client relationships, and project leadership, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a diverse portfolio of industrial and commercial clients throughout the Northeast.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our Environmental Compliance team, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients while helping manage projects from concept through completion. You'll apply your technical expertise to help organizations navigate complex environmental regulations, maintain compliance, and implement practical solutions.
  • Independently prepare environmental compliance plans, including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Contingency Plans, and related regulatory documents.
  • Prepare air permit applications and wastewater discharge permit applications.
  • Complete annual environmental compliance reports, including Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory (Form R), Permit-by-Rule, Title V, Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports, and other required regulatory submissions.
  • Perform air emissions calculations and prepare wastewater compliance reports.
  • Conduct onsite environmental compliance assessments and provide technical support at client facilities.
  • Perform Aboveground and Underground Storage Tank (AST/UST) compliance inspections and support tank system design projects.
  • Support wastewater treatment system design and improvement projects.
  • Manage multiple client accounts and environmental projects simultaneously while mentoring and supporting junior staff.
  • Develop strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and technical excellence.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of environmental compliance consulting experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise preparing environmental compliance plans, permits, and regulatory reports.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations affecting industrial facilities.
  • Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements clearly.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel primarily throughout Connecticut, with occasional out-of-state travel.
