Team Overview
Join a team of 200+ software engineers supporting advanced surveillance radar and mission systems programs. This role supports multiple engineering teams by developing and maintaining software tools, automation solutions, DevSecOps environments, analytics applications, and embedded software infrastructure. The team is currently supporting a highly visible Special Access Program and is seeking engineers who can bridge software development, infrastructure, and mission-system tooling. Position Summary
We are seeking a senior software engineer with experience in embedded systems, engineering tools, automation, and mission-critical applications. This role combines software development, infrastructure support, and technical leadership to help maintain and modernize engineering environments used across surveillance radar and defense programs. The ideal candidate is hands-on and comfortable working across multiple programming languages, embedded development environments, Linux/Windows systems, and software toolchains. This individual will collaborate with software, systems, and infrastructure teams to develop scalable solutions, automate workflows, support DevSecOps initiatives, and evaluate legacy applications for modernization efforts. Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong background developing software for embedded systems, engineering tools, or mission-critical applications
Proficiency in Python (required)
Experience developing and maintaining software tools, automation solutions, utilities, reporting applications, or engineering support systems
Experience working in both Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows environments
Ability to analyze existing software and determine whether to patch, modernize, or replace legacy solutions
Experience supporting software development environments, build systems, or DevSecOps workflows
Programming Experience, Experience with one or more of the following:
Python
C/C++
C#
Java
Perl
Visual Basic (legacy applications)
Git
VxWorks
RHEL/Linux administration Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting embedded software development environments
Experience with surveillance radar, airborne sensors, ISR, avionics, or mission systems
Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and software automation
Familiarity with engineering tool ecosystems, build environments, and infrastructure support
Experience integrating software across hardware, embedded, and system-level environments
MATLAB experience, particularly in environments involving algorithms, sensors, signal processing, or airborne systems
