Position Overview

Are you an electrical engineering leader ready to move beyond technical production and into a role where you architect the systems that power our communities? We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as a technical linchpin for our Houston-based team. In this role, you arenโ€™t just managing circuits; you are a strategic partner, responsible for the technical success and holistic integration of sophisticated MEP systems across some of the most complex facilities in Texasโ€”from high-stakes healthcare environments to cutting-edge industrial hubs.

Joining the firm means stepping into an entrepreneurial, service-driven environment where your expertise directly shapes the built environment. At the firm, we prioritize a "listen-first" philosophy, ensuring our technical solutions are as buildable as they are innovative. With a culture built on transparency, direct access to leadership, and a clear trajectory for professional advancement, this is the ideal platform for a seasoned engineer to leave a lasting legacy while mentoring the next generation of AEC talent.

Core Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership: Architect and oversee the full lifecycle of electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage integration for high-impact commercial and institutional projects.

  • Project Stewardship: Steer multi-discipline teams from concept through construction completion, ensuring every milestone is met with technical precision, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Collaborative Integration: Lead design and construction meetings, serving as the primary technical point of contact to ensure electrical systems are perfectly synchronized with architectural and mechanical requirements.

  • Technical Authority: Perform and review rigorous engineering calculations and technical reports to ensure total system performance and rigorous compliance with evolving building codes.

  • Field Advocacy: Conduct high-level construction administration, including site visits, RFI resolutions, and submittal reviews to ensure design intent is flawlessly executed in the field.

  • Strategic Growth: Partner with the Marketing Director to support business development initiatives, leveraging your technical credibility to build and maintain premier client relationships.

  • Mentorship & Quality: Uphold the firmโ€™s baseline of excellence by overseeing the technical accuracy of documentation and coaching junior engineers in Revit and AutoCAD workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Experience: 8+ years of recent electrical design experience specifically within an MEP, architectural, or engineering consulting firm.

  • Software Proficiency: Expert command of Revit and AutoCAD, with professional experience in Bluebeam and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Management: Proven track record of managing project budgets, schedules, and multi-discipline coordination.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead client-facing discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.

  • Accreditation: LEED AP or similar sustainable design credentials.

  • Sector Expertise: Deep experience in specialized sectors such as Healthcare (ACHA), Aviation, or Laboratory design.

  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated aptitude for client-facing growth activities and influencing senior-level leadership.
