They conduct detailed inspections, review plans, and may supervise other inspectors or provide technical guidance. Their work helps prevent electrical hazards, ensures the quality of installations, and protects public safety. Senior Electrical Inspectors often work for government agencies, construction companies, or engineering firms and may also participate in training and mentoring junior staff.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior electrical inspector?

To thrive as a Senior Electrical Inspector, you need a deep knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and construction standards, often supported by relevant certifications and significant field experience. Join a Team Where Engineering Excellence Drives Opportunity
At Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI), we bring together expertise and innovation to solve the most complex challenges. Since 1978, we've supported mission-driven organizations in designing systems and environments that advance society and improve lives. Today, with more than 900 professionals across 22 offices, we help shape the future of healthcare, science and technology, energy, education, and other vital sectors.
From collaborating with the California Air Resources Board to transform air quality in the world's largest, zero net energy emissions testing facility to creating human-centric, technically advanced clinical environments that elevate communities - such as Healthcare Design Magazine's 2022 Design Showcase Winner, Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, Florida - our work reflects the highest standards in sustainable design practices.
AEI is at the forefront of designing cutting-edge, hyperscale, and mission critical facilities that redefine innovation in ultra-high-density technology, water-use efficiency, and sustainability. With our impressive track record encompassing manifold projects, such as data center commissioning for the SAS Institute, Inc., the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's data center, continuous mission-critical infrastructure support for Biogen's expanding preclinical analysis and manufacturing operations, BB&T Financial's primary data center, and the Idaho National Laboratory Collaborative Computing Center, among others, we have established our standing as industry leaders.
Having designed facilities in the Top 50 fastest supercomputers in the world and over 200 million square feet of mission-critical facilities, our client roster spans various sectors such as high-performance computing (HPC)/research, hyperscale, finance, healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, private enterprise, and federal agencies. We have planned and delivered infrastructure supporting 2+ exaFLOPS and 500MW+ critical power and cooling, enabling us to supply unparalleled expertise to every project. AEI leads the nation in next-generation computing facilities in support of the fastest supercomputers in the world, delivering groundbreaking solutions that push the boundaries of possibility.
