  • Provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers while supporting professional development and knowledge sharing.

  • May lead project-specific engineering teams and coordinate work assignments to support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and production of electrical engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and analytical models throughout all phases of project delivery.

  • Develop electrical system designs for power distribution, lighting, grounding, low-voltage, and other building electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

  • Prepare and review coordinated construction documents, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, and supporting design documentation.

  • Utilize CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create and coordinate accurate 2D drawings and 3D electrical models.

  • Review electrical engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project scope, quality standards, coordination requirements, and technical expectations.

  • Lead construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), conducting site visits, and supporting field coordination efforts.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to develop coordinated and constructible electrical design solutions.

  • Assist project managers with scope management, cost tracking, scheduling, and technical risk evaluation related to electrical systems.

  • Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve complex technical challenges and support project decision-making.

  • Participate in professional development activities and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards, and technical practices.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering required.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • Active NCEES Record for licensure maintenance preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience designing commercial building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.

  • Proficiency with CAD and BIM software used for electrical engineering and multidisciplinary coordination.

  • Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, and construction administration practices.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
