Senior .NET Developer
Location: Alexandria, VA
Work Schedule: Onsite 5 days per week
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a Senior .NET Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting legacy application sustainment and modernization efforts in Alexandria, VA. This is a hands-on development role focused on building and maintaining enterprise web applications using .NET Framework, .NET Core, Angular, SQL Server, and API development.

The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience, the ability to support both legacy and modern application environments, and the communication skills needed to work closely with technical leads, developers, testers, and end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and modernize web applications using .NET Framework, .NET Core, Angular, JavaScript, and SQL Server
  • Support legacy systems while contributing to infrastructure and application modernization efforts
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs following secure coding and architecture best practices
  • Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and backend database components
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle, including design, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting
  • Use DevSecOps toolchains for code builds, merges, deployments, and testing
  • Maintain design documentation and contribute to design and test artifact reviews
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Technical Leads, developers, testers, and business users to translate requirements into Features and User Stories
  • Identify root causes of application issues and work with testers and end users to resolve defects
  • Lead by example in writing secure, maintainable, and testable code

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Able to work onsite in Alexandria, VA, 5 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of related software development experience
  • Advanced hands-on experience with .NET development, including both .NET Framework and .NET Core
  • Strong experience with Angular and JavaScript UI frameworks
  • Experience developing and managing APIs
  • Strong SQL experience, including queries and stored procedures
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications and modern application architecture
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests
