Job description

Software Engineering & Development (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Irvine, CA): Will assist in building out enhancements to State Street's internal suite of software applications. The senior analyst role will be responsible for defining business requirements and creating technical specifications for developers, testing large-scale software applications, and performing system integration and regression testing. Duties include Leverage strong understanding of SDLC process and project methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile; Utilize freehand SQL and perform data extraction using Sybase; Work on multiple projects on a monthly release cycle; Work in a complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision; Gather business requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business users, developers and managers; Develop Functional-spec, Test-cases and User-cases. Ensure functional, regression, integration, BUAT coverage and complete documentation for each software release; Meet with client Senior Managers, present business solutions, set up/fine tune business processes; Manage and track project status; and Handle release weekend support as well as production support. Hybrid telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; plus 5 years of experience in Financial Services trade flow and Corporate Actions processing.
Must have: Strong understanding of SDLC process and project methodologies (Waterfall/Agile); Strong critical thinking and problem solving; Demonstrated solid ability with freehand SQL and data extraction; Proven experience working with multi-location teams; Proven ability to work effectively both independently and with a team as needed, leveraging strong communication skills; Proven ability to multi-task and succeed in a dynamic, high demand environment; Demonstrated thorough understanding of the Financial Services trade flow; Demonstrated thorough understanding of Corporate Action processing; Demonstrated solid knowledge of relational database models; Proven solid project management skills as well as ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios; and proven aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines. (Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking the ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years of experience required. All experience can be gained concurrently).

Salary Range:
$132,912 - $190,000 Annual
