Job description

Company Description

Vuori is re-defining what athletic apparel looks like: built to move and sweat in but designed with a casual aesthetic to transition into everyday life. We draw inspiration from an active coastal California lifestyle; an integration of fitness, creative expression and life. Our high energy fast paced retail environment is reflected in the clothes we make. We aim to inspire others to take on all aspects of their lives with clarity, enthusiasm and purpose...while having a lot of fun along the way. We are proud to be an outlet for opportunity and for personal growth and success.

Job Description

Vuori Design is a group of creative thinkers who are forward-looking, detail-oriented, and solution-focused. We are at the forefront of Men's activewear, staying attuned to macro lifestyle and fashion trends. We value strong communication and cross-functional relationships, fostering a high-performance culture. Our team prioritizes connection and warm spirited culture.

We are seeking an Associate Designer to support the development & execution of the Vuori Men's product assortment. This individual will be responsible for supporting the design process including but not limited to concept, research, design, tech pack creation, BOM development, fabric selection, trim selection, fitting, and finessing product. To be effective in this role, the individual must be eager to learn and support the team in any way needed, have an eye for elevated design, and have a basic understanding of Vuori aesthetics. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the performance apparel space, Vuori's mission, and will embody the brand's values.

As an Associate Designer on the Men's Design Team at Vuori Clothing, you will play a pivotal role in creating innovative, stylish, and functional activewear for our customers.

Please submit a portfolio for review along with your resume.

What you'll get to do:

  • Support the Men's Design Team in the development and execution of seasonal collections across multiple categories, balancing creative contributions with strong organizational follow-through.
  • Own and manage a subset of styles within the category, partnering closely with senior designers to transform concepts into commercially viable, design-forward products.
  • Partnering with brand ambassadors and athletes to continually elevate and innovate our product offerings.
  • Support fabric and trim selection in partnership with the materials team, with a focus on performance, hand feel, and visual identity.
  • Strong understanding of apparel markets and trends.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of tech packs and product documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity from initial concept through final development.
  • Ensuring the accurate communication of design intent through the fitting process, collaborating with the in-house workshop to create mockups and prototypes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, technical design, merchandising, materials, and sourcing to ensure product execution meets both design vision and performance standards.
  • Contribute to prototype development, including mockups and iterative refinements, with a strong attention to detail and construction.
  • Maintaining a keen attention to detail throughout the product development process to create technically excellent athletic apparel that seamlessly blends style and function.
Qualifications

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of experience in the contemporary fashion industry.
  • A bachelor's degree in design (BA, BFA, or BS) or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Proficient at Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint, Office and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and the Mac platform.
  • Knowledge of 3D design is a plus.
  • Exposure and/or experience in knitwear, denim, or performance categories such as golf.
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar collaborative tools.
