SuccessFactors, Inc.ย seeks aย Senior DevOps Engineerย at ourย Reston, VAย locationย toย develop and implement database backup and recoveryย strategyย and solutions.ย ย
Expectations and Tasks:ย ย
Control system resources usage, perform troubleshooting andย diagnosticsย activities. Responsible for the installation,ย configurationsย and maintenance of MySQLย databaseย Standalone & Master-Master cluster, DR setup. Analyze resources usage (Infra and Database), analyze growth patterns, Perform Capacity planning for the Database Infrastructure. Collect and analyze database performance information;ย identifyย and implement solutions for performance problems. Utilize query optimization and tuning skills including cross database and cross server queries, analysis and troubleshooting interactions between databases, operatingย systemsย and applicationsย with regard toย performance andย resourcesย usage. Create database tables, setting up indexes, dataย constraintsย and database views. Analyze andย predict throughย trend analysis and resolve databaseย system,ย storageย and application issues. Monitor jobs in production and be responsible for load/hardwareย analysisย mapping, faultย toleranceย and security. Evaluate and implement database technologies and utilities. Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations. Review and implement database changes. Participate in rotation shift supporting production and non-production databases of MySQL and MSSQL and provideย timelyย response to system alerts. Drive operational efficiency topics. Work closely with Stakeholders, Development Architects/Managers, and developers, across locations and ensureย timelyย delivery. Participate and contribute towards organization's goals andย objectives, collaborating with multiple teams and solutions.ย ย
Education andย Occupational Experience:ย ย
Bachelor'sย degree or foreign equivalent inย Computer Science, Engineering,ย Mathematicsย or a related field of studyย andย six (6)ย years ofย progressive post-baccalaureateย experience in the job offered or related occupation.ย Alternatively, aย Master'sย degree or foreign equivalent inย Computer Science, Engineering,ย Mathematicsย or a related field of studyย andย four (4)ย years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.ย
Qualifications/Skills and Competenciesย Experience:ย ย
Experience mustย includeย four (4)ย years involvingย each ofย the following:ย ย
MySQL Database administration including Install, Upgrade, HA, DR, Replication, and backups;ย ย
DevOps automation tools including Terraform, Git, Vault, Jenkins, Ansible, docker, and K8s.ย
Experience must includeย two (2)ย years involving each of the following:ย ย
MSSQL Database Administration including Install, Upgrade, HA, DR, Replication, and backups; andย ย
PostgreSQL including Install, Upgrade, HA, DR, Replication, and backups.ย

Compensation Rangeย Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position isย $145,101ย - $195,976.ย SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step towardย demonstratingย SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAPย providesย the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position isย $145,101ย - $222,700. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each caseย which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. asย determinedย through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollarย amountย and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
