Senior Automotive Design Engineer โ€“ Interior Components & Accessories

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Design Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and launch of vehicle interior components and accessories from concept through production.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy owning products throughout the entire development lifecycle and working closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative automotive products to market.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop automotive interior components and accessory products
  • Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using CATIA V5/V6
  • Support products from concept through production launch
  • Develop validation plans, DFMEA documentation, and engineering releases
  • Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Program Management, and suppliers
  • Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and production readiness
  • Lead supplier discussions, feasibility reviews, and problem-solving activities
  • Drive product improvements, cost optimization, and issue resolution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of automotive product development experience
  • 5+ years of automotive interior components and systems development experience
  • Strong CATIA V5/V6 (or equivalent CAD software) proficiency
  • Experience owning products through the full development lifecycle from concept to production launch
  • Experience creating engineering drawings, CAD models, and validation documentation
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multiple vehicle launches from concept through production
  • Luxury or premium automotive industry experience
  • Supplier management experience
  • APQP, DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up experience
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills
