Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Design Checking professional to join our established and rapidly expanding Electronic Combat Solutions business area. The Senior Design Checker position we are seeking to fill requires 12-15 years of experience in the Mechanical Design Drafting profession, with a minimum 2-3 years specifically assigned performing a Senior Design Checker role, to support the Greater Nashua NH region. You will provide your expertise on the many technology challenged and innovated product and services to support our customers. As part of the Design & Drafting Community you will utilize the latest CAD Technology and Processes that are derived from forward planning with Industry professionals. Your technical skills will advance while performing your assigned responsibilities on development projects and in supporting our existing product portfolio. The individual selected for this position will be an experienced Mechanical Design Drafting Checker who is a problem solver with diverse technical capabilities, sound design and drafting checking skills, geometrical tolerance fundamentals, and model based checking mindset. The requirements assigned to this position, while under the guidance of Program and Engineering Leadership, include the following: * Capable of reviewing engineering data in CREO Parametric (Pro/E) and AutoCAD. * Proficient reading and understanding Engineering Drawings and Bills of Material. * Experienced in dimensioning and tolerancing IAW ASME Y14.5. * Experienced with drawing types IAW ASME Y14.24. * Experienced with drawing practices IAW ASMEY14.100. * Able to review and evaluate tolerance analysis. * Able to professionally provide feedback and recommendations on drawing and design improvements. * Familiar working with a formal Product Lifecycle Data Management System (PLMS) * Able to collaborate with Drafters, Designers, Engineers, Manufacturers and Suppliers. * Effective Communicator, both verbally and written. * Understand Model based engineering and Model based definitions practices. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. Required Education, Experience, & Skills In addition to job function description * An Associate's Degree or higher and 12+ years' Design Drafting experience with 2+ years dedicated to Checking function or: * 15 years' Design Drafting experience with 3+ years' dedicated to Checking function * Work within a broader program team, highly capable of communicating across functional boundaries in order to solve problems and achieve common goals. * Familiar with standard manufacturing practices for the efficient fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment * Strong understanding of GD&T in accordance with Y14.5 and associated ASME drawing standards * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to leverage 3D Solid modeling in the utilization of checking models and drawings. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * An Associate's Degree or higher and 15+ years' Design Drafting experience with 2+ years dedicated to Checking function or: * 20 years' Design Drafting experience with 3+ years' dedicated to Checking function * Experience with CREO Parametric * Experience with Dassault Systems 3D Experience PLMS * Experience with electro mechanical packaging * Experienced with defense electronics. (Chassis', Card Cages, Backplanes, Cables, Harnesses, Assemblies, Optical systems, etc.) * Expert with Y14.5 GD&T, ASME Y14.5-1994 or later, and all facets of dimensioning and tolerancing * Proficient in researching and understanding Military and Commercial Specifications. * Expert reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings * Understanding of checking technical data packages in a model based definition environment. Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
