Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Bridge Design Leader for employment in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The Senior Bridge Design Leader for Mississippi will be the "point" engineer leading existing project deliveries as well as identifying and working toward new project opportunity acquisitions throughout the state, regional and municipal locations.
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by other.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS + 8 (eight) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Active PE license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
  • 8 + years of bridge design and plan development experience
  • Project experience in Mississippi related to MSDOT and/or local bridge design project work.
  • Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX
  • Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes
  • Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel.
