Position Summary:
Hybrid 3 days (office locations are New York City, Denver, and Charlotte)
Join our mission to transform pharmacy benefits and healthcare navigation as a Senior Data Engineer (Analytics Engineer). You will build and maintain reliable data models within Snowflake with dbt, and improve data quality and observability. Partner with analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to deliver trusted, well-documented datasets that power analytics and products.
Position Responsibilities:
โ€ข Build, test, and document Snowflake data models and business logic in dbt
โ€ข Apply and improve data quality, testing, observability, and lineage standards
โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define data contracts and interfaces
โ€ข Contribute to Capital Rx's modular data platform and client-specific data configurations
โ€ข Participate in design reviews; propose scalable, maintainable patterns
โ€ข Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot incidents, and drive root-cause fixes
โ€ข Optimize cost and performance of jobs, storage, and queries with guidance
โ€ข Write clear documentation and support knowledge sharing
โ€ข Adhere to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct, including reporting of noncompliance
Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข 5+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or related field
โ€ข Strong SQL and Python; solid understanding of ETL/ELT and dimensional/data vault modeling
โ€ข Hands-on dbt experience (models, tests, documentation, deployments)
โ€ข Experience with orchestration (Dagster or Airflow) and scheduling best practices
โ€ข Familiarity with Spark/Databricks and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
โ€ข CI/CD for data (Git-based workflows, environments), and basic IaC familiarity
โ€ข Data observability and testing (dbt tests, lineage tools)
โ€ข Understanding of security, governance, and privacy for PII/PHI (HIPAA awareness)
โ€ข Effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
โ€ข Bonus if you have Exposure to healthcare data (claims, eligibility, provider directories)
โ€ข Performance tuning in Snowflake (warehouse sizing, clustering, caching)
