We are hiring Sr. Data Center Network Engineer - Decommisioning- Hybrid for a Contract position in new york, NY
Senior Data Center Network Engineer Contract | Pittsburgh Data Center Decommission
Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Center Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise data center decommission initiative. This role will focus on planning and executing the retirement of network infrastructure while ensuring production services remain available throughout the migration process.
The ideal candidate has strong enterprise routing and switching experience and is comfortable working across Cisco networking, Cisco ACI, load balancers, and DNS infrastructure. You'll partner closely with network, security, and infrastructure teams to migrate services, decommission legacy equipment, and validate network integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute enterprise data center decommission activities.
Perform network assessments and identify infrastructure targeted for retirement.
Execute routing and switching changes to support workload and service migrations.
Support the migration and decommissioning of Citrix NetScaler and F5 load balancers.
Manage DNS updates and migration activities using Infoblox.
Navigate Cisco ACI fabrics to identify tenants, policies, and network objects associated with decommission efforts.
Validate network connectivity following migrations and document infrastructure changes.
Work within established change management processes and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Required Qualifications:
Strong enterprise routing and switching experience.
Experience supporting data center migrations, consolidations, or decommission projects.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus and/or Cisco Catalyst platforms.
Experience with Citrix NetScaler, F5, and Infoblox DNS.
Working knowledge of firewall rules and security policies, including understanding the impact of network changes on firewall configurations.
Highly Desired
Experience navigating Cisco ACI environments, including identifying tenants, application profiles, EPGs, and network objects to support decommission activities. Deep ACI design experience is not required.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise Cisco environments.
Familiarity with change-controlled production environments.
Certifications Desired
CCNP Enterprise or Data Center preferred
CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or Data Center a plus
ITIL Foundation a plus
Estimated Pay Range: 75-82/hr
