AvMC's mission is to "deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions" to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, managing and maintaining virtualized systems to ensure data integrity, availability and security. The selected candidate will work with leadership and the architect team to design a virtualization strategy to meet mission requirements. They will provide technical expertise supporting information systems components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to meet architectural and business requirements.Responsibilities:Conduct administration tasks as required including patching, updates, hardening, remediation, and management of virtualization environmentResponsible for building and maintaining VDI deploymentsResponsible for end-to-end configuration and support of the VDI platformAbility to work closely with application owners and support staff to deliver high availability of business-critical applicationsIn-depth knowledge of Horizon VDI solutionsExperience in building and administrating VMware vSphere in a large-scale environmentExcellent problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and communication skillsCustomer service-oriented mindsetMentor and provide guidance to junior systems administratorsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fieldTen (10) years of prior experience in a similar roleDoD 8570 Level II/III certification desiredActive Security Clearance RequiredIPTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
