GENERAL FUNCTION
Senior Data Governance Analysts are responsible for leading complex analysis and problem-solving efforts that improve data quality, support governance objectives, and strengthen business decision-making.
This role partners closely with business, data, technology, and governance stakeholders to understand business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver practical solutions to data-related challenges.
The Senior Analyst operates with a high degree of independence and judgment while contributing to the team's broader goals and priorities. This role is a key contributor to building and maintaining confidence in data used across Commercial processes and reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Quality Assessment & Issue Analysis
  • Perform analysis of data quality issues across business processes, systems, and reporting environments
  • Identify root causes and document findings, impacts, and recommendations
  • Support prioritization of issues based on business risk and operational significance
Governance Execution & Adoption
  • Apply governance standards, policies, and practices within assigned initiatives and workstreams
  • Partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements, definitions, ownership, and accountability
  • Support governance activities that improve consistency and transparency of data management practices
Control Analysis & Monitoring Support
  • Analyze monitoring results and control outputs to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Assist in evaluating control effectiveness and operational impact
  • Contribute to assessments of data quality and data confidence within assigned domains
Workstream Delivery & Execution
  • Independently manage assigned initiatives, assessments, and analytical efforts
  • Coordinate activities across stakeholders to achieve defined objectives and deliverables
  • Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies as appropriate
Business Partnership & Advisory Support
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and data challenges
  • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations and next steps
  • Support development of solutions that balance business needs, risk considerations, and operational feasibility
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and data management practices
  • Contribute ideas, documentation, and lessons learned that improve team effectiveness
  • Share knowledge and expertise with peers across the organization

  • This role does not have formal people management responsibilities
  • May provide guidance, knowledge sharing, and support to less experienced analysts

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience / Knowledge
  • Experience in data analysis, data quality, business analysis, or data governance within a commercial or financial services environment
