Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for implementing and advancing cybersecurity engineering practices across Fluence software products, operational technology (OT) environments, and supporting infrastructure. This role contributes to secure design, implementation, and operation of systems supporting grid‑scale energy storage solutions. The position requires strong hands‑on expertise in cybersecurity engineering, OT network security, cloud and infrastructure security, and industry standards. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer works closely with product, software, networking, and operations teams to integrate security into development and deployment processes while ensuring alignment with business and operational needs. This role provides technical guidance within the team and supports the execution of cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to cybersecurity architecture and support implementation across product, OT, cloud, and network environments
  • Implement security requirements in product development and deployment processes, ensuring secure‑by‑design practices
  • Execute vulnerability management activities, including scanning, analysis, and remediation tracking for Fluence OS
  • Support risk assessments, threat modeling, and security reviews for product features and deployments
  • Assist in designing and implementing network segmentation, access control, and monitoring solutions for OT environments
  • Apply cybersecurity standards (IEC62443, NIST, NERCCIP, etc.) into engineering practices and configurations
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security into product and infrastructure workflows
  • Support evaluation and deployment of security tools, automation, and monitoring solutions
  • Contribute to documentation, hardening guides, and security baselines
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 8–12 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably with exposure to product or OT/industrial environments
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity controls in network, cloud, or infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with OT/ICS environments or industrial networking concepts
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, threat modeling, and security best practices
  • Hands‑on experience with Linux systems and security tooling
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC62443, NIST, or CIS
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Proven experience designing and leading cybersecurity architecture or large‑scale security initiatives
  • Strong expertise in network security, OT security, cloud security, and secure infrastructure design
  • Experience securing industrial control systems (ICS) or operational technology (OT) environments
  • Deep understanding of vulnerability management, threat modeling, and risk‑based security practices
  • Hands‑on experience with Linux‑based systems and security tooling in complex production environments
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as IEC62443, NIST, CIS, or NERCCIP
