Position Summary The Senior Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for protecting the organization's computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cyber security principles and practices, as well as experience with various security technologies and cyber security program areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assess, enhance, and design security architecture needs at scale in a complex acquisition driven environment
Assist in the planning and implementation of enterprise security solutions for hybrid enterprise and application environments
Review and validate detected vulnerabilities and risks to the enterprise
Determine the operational impacts of cyber security control failures
Develop, track, and present cyber security statistics and metrics for assigned area
Respond to security breaches and incidents, by supporting less tenured cyber security personnel
Communicate business impacts and work directly with cyber leadership on recommended remediation steps
Develop and approve changes to cyber security procedures and systems
Apply information and knowledge about the latest cyber security trends and threats to prevent the realization of risk to the business enterprise
Provide input to enterprise resiliency, disaster recovery and business continuity
Assist in the training and assessment of skill growth for less tenured cyber security personnel
Regular on-site attendance is an essential job function due to the need for secure access to systems, collaboration on sensitive technical matters, participation in operational meetings, and hands-on involvement.
Marginal Functions
Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients.
Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department.
Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
Strong knowledge of identity security principles
Working knowledge of Azure\AWS cloud environment configuration
Experience with endpoint security tooling configuration

Ability to train and assess less tenured security staff on skills associated with team roles

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs) preferred.
Two (2) or more years' experience as a cyber security engineer, system administrator, or system/cloud engineer.
Strong knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection software and business systems (i.e. M365/Google).
Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with Web application security testing is desired.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, and ISO).
Familiarity with software development practices and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, bash, Terraform) for task automation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
Professional certifications such as CISSP, AZ-500/AWS Certified Security - Specialty, BSCP or equivalents are highly desirable.
