Job description

Cybersecurity Risk Analyst

Salary Range: $100,000 โ€“ $150,000

Clearance: TS/SCI + CI Poly

Location: 50 miles of McLean, Virginia

Position is contingent upon contract award
 

Ops Tech Alliance is seeking a Cybersecurity Risk Analyst to support enterprise cybersecurity and cyber defense operations in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. This role will assess cybersecurity capabilities, identify operational risks and process gaps, support incident-response and reporting activities, and help translate complex cyber information into clear, actionable recommendations. Competencies center on cyber-defense operations, incident response, situational awareness, information correlation, reporting, and process automation. The position supports a high-visibility national security customer and requires on-site work within 50 miles of McLean, Virginia.
 

Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise cyber-defense effectiveness by assessing cybersecurity operations, identifying risks and process gaps, improving incident-response and reporting capabilities, and translating cyber information into actionable recommendations.
  • Assess the technical and operational effectiveness of cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the processes and architecture supporting the overall cyber defense operational activities including, but not limited to, analysis, incident handling and reporting products, and the reporting lifecycle
  • Provide effective incident response capabilities, usable and effective reports that address overall situational awareness
  • Maximize the use of tools to correlate information and synthesize data into usable and actionable events
  • Identify and provide an agile approach to the automation of any manual or efficient processes
  • Reviewing cyber-defense processes and architecture and recommending continuous improvements.
  • Supporting analysis, incident handling, incident reporting, and the broader reporting lifecycle.
  • Improving incident-response capabilities and producing reports that strengthen situational awareness.
  • Using cybersecurity tools to correlate information and synthesize disparate data into actionable events.
  • Identifying manual or inefficient cyber-defense processes and recommending agile automation approaches.
  • Reviewing applicable federal and IC cybersecurity policies and helping programs comply with governance and security requirements.
  • Drafting or coordinating cybersecurity policies, processes, procedures, instructions, and implementation guidance.


Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to meet access requirements, including Counterintelligence Polygraph
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience assessing the technical and operational effectiveness of cybersecurity capabilities and correlate information and convert data into usable, actionable events.
  • Experience supporting cyber-defense operations, including cybersecurity analysis, incident handling, incident reporting, and situational-awareness reporting, reviewing cyber-defense processes or architectures and recommending continuous improvements.
  • Work on-site at customer facilities within 50 miles of McLean, Virginia
  • Minimum relevant experience depends on education:
    • High school diploma/GED + 8 years
    • Associate degree + 6 years
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree + 4 years
    • Masterโ€™s degree - + 2 years
  • Qualifying experience must have occurred within the past 15 years.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting ODNI, the Intelligence Community, DoD, or another federal national security customer.
  • Experience with RMF, ATO, NIST SP 800-53, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, or SOC/SIEM operations.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certification, such as CISSP, CISM, CGRC, Security+, or CASP+.
