Senior Controls Engineer
Location: Sutherlin, Oregon - OPEN TO RELOCATING YOU HERE!
Position Summary:
Our Client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Controls Engineer to lead the automation and standardization of control panel design and manufacturing. This role bridges engineering and business strategy by optimizing component selection, automating workflows, and supporting scalable product growth.
You'll champion the integration of tools like EPLAN, EEC, CPQ, and Quoter, while collaborating cross-functionally to streamline engineering processes, documentation, and compliance. This position also plays a key role in product improvement, vendor strategy, and technical customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engineering Automation & Standardization: Lead deployment of EPLAN/EEC systems, streamline control panel designs, and maintain design documentation and quality standards.
• Product Strategy & Optimization: Align control panel components with market needs. Optimize for cost, performance, and manufacturability. Support rapid prototyping and product launches.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate between engineering, sales, and manufacturing to align tools, processes, and product offerings with business objectives.
• Customer & Sales Support: Serve as a technical advisor. Develop support tools and deliver internal/external training on panel solutions.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure designs meet UL508A, NEC, NFPA, and related standards. Maintain revision control and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in control panel design, industrial automation, or related roles.
• Proficiency in EPLAN/EEC, PLC/HMI programming, and industrial control systems.
• Experience with design for manufacturability, cost analysis, and supply chain coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
