The position also leads infrastructure and equipment-related projects, supports preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, manages utility performance and spend, and serves as a key technical partner to Production, Maintenance, Plant Operations, contractors, and Engineering teams. Based on plant needs, this role may also support manufacturing equipment and process-related systems.## ## PositionSenior Facilities Engineer## ## LocationUSA, Decatur, AL## How You'll Create Possibilities* *Serve as the primary plant contact for technical support and consultation related to facility infrastructure and building support systems.** *Provide technical expertise on plant layout, utility distribution, connections into and out of the facility, and troubleshooting of facility operational issues.** *Support Plant Operations across multiple shifts to ensure continuity, reliability, and responsiveness.** *Oversee the effective operation, utilization, and reliability of facility support systems and building infrastructure, including:** *Lighting, Air compressors, Electrical systems, including breaker maintenance, Plumbing, Vacuum pumps, Fire sprinkler systems, Chillers and cooling towers, HVAC systems, Boilers and heaters, Process waste systems, Drainage systems, Dock doors, Roofing, Fans, Backup generators** *Plan and implement process and infrastructure improvements that enhance safety, increase manufacturing capacity, and reduce scrap.** *Lead equipment upgrades, replacements, and facility improvement projects in support of operational objectives.** *Support infrastructure design, technical specifications, and integration planning for new or modified systems.** *Partner with the PSO, contractors, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) to ensure technical specifications are complete and aligned with plant and equipment strategies.** *Provide technical support, problem-solving, and direction to assigned production departments.** *Plan and support preventive maintenance activities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.** *Identify chronic or recurring equipment and infrastructure issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.** *Lead and support Level 2 troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair activities.** *Identify and prioritize significant maintenance issues related to facility infrastructure and develop action plans to address them.** *Conduct investigations into critical failures and communicate findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.** *Document Field Service Reports in the eAM system for repairs or adjustments involving:** *Assembly area issues causing more than 30 minutes of downtime** *Support area issues causing more than 2 hours of downtime** *Ensure all completed work is documented in the eAM work management system, including any remaining open items.** *Ensure temporary corrective actions are not left in place without a follow-up work order for permanent repair.** *Act as the primary point of contact for coordinating facility-related work with Production and other support functions.** *Provide on-call support as needed to meet production requirements.** *Lead and direct Skilled Trades Maintenance personnel in support of operational priorities.** *Promote effective communication and information sharing across assigned areas and shifts to ensure timely escalation and issue resolution.** *Build strong working relationships with the Maintenance team by coaching, providing resources, and fostering a culture of accountability.** *Manage the plant utility budget.** *Monitor utility consumption and support efforts to minimize and control utility usage.** *Support safe operation of all facility systems in compliance with plant standards and applicable regulations.** *Perform Process Safety Management (PSM) Lead duties as the mechanical system integrity owner for the Refrigerant R600 Isobutane System.*## What You'll Bring to Our Team* *Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.** *Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance, facilities management, mechanical engineering, or a related manufacturing support role.** *Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems within an industrial or manufacturing environment.** *Experience with mechanical and electrical controls systems.** *Experience managing or supporting flammable and/or hazardous chemical processes, including knowledge of:** *Gas detection systems, Lower Explosive Limit (LEL), Fire triangle concepts, Flammability and flashpoint, Explosion and fire risks, Critical operating parameters and safety limits, Safety systems and interlocks,** *Basic understanding of machining and maintenance-related processes, including turning, milling, welding, grinding, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).** *Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated root cause analysis/problem-solving skills.** *Demonstrated project management experience.** *Previous leadership, supervisory, or direct coordination experience with Production Operations and Operators.** *Strong leadership capabilities, including interpersonal, facilitation, communication, and team-building skills.** *Proven analytical and technical skills, including application of Lean and Six Sigma tools.** *Experience managing skilled trades or working directly with skilled trades teams.** *Ability to translate long-term plans into effective daily execution.** *Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.** *Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and experience with software/programming and PLCs.*## **Our Culture**Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
