Job Description Job Summary : Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates instrumentation and control (I&C) and electrical systems and equipment, components and instrumentation used in industrial applications. In particular this work will be working on the design of process systems, mechanical equipment, mechanisms found in nuclear power plants, commercial and government nuclear fuel enrichment and processing plants, chemical plants, refineries and power plants. All work may be required to be completed per the requirements of ASME NQA-1, 10CFR50 and 10CFR21 so familiarity and experience working within the rigors of those QA standards is a plus. Position requires individual to determine design approaches and parameters and demonstrate a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply those fundamentals. Prepare design and procurement specifications, design basis documents, systems design descriptions, proposals, whitepapers, trade studies models, drawings including schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams and calculations. Develop and give presentations (e.g. Power Point) to colleagues, customers and management. Duties will be affiliated w/ motion control engineering and design, Control System Design, PLC Programming and HMI Development. Utilizing Rockwell Automation RSLogix/Studio 5000 will be required with this position. Experienced w/ Rockwell, Siemens or Honeywell Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development. May use computer-assisted engineering, design and modeling software and equipment including MATLAB to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical, mechanical, mechatronics and general engineering to accomplish goals. Will be required to demonstrate Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected determine methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May supervise the activities of others.
