Position Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing organization. This is a highly technical and collaborative role that provides excellent career development opportunities for the successful candidate.

The Sr. Systems Engineer will provide dedicated onsite IT support, resolve escalated technical issues, maintain client technology environments, and serve as a technical resource and mentor to Junior Systems Engineers and Systems Engineers. You will work alongside other Systems Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers in a collaborative environment that supports continued technical and professional growth.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated onsite IT support to end users
  • Serve as an escalation point for Junior Systems Engineers and Systems Engineers
  • Mentor and support the technical development of Junior Systems Engineers and Systems Engineers
  • Manage and resolve support requests through the organization's ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 technologies, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Support Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Troubleshoot networking technologies, including TCP/IP, LAN, DMZ, WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, and firewalls
  • Support workloads and services within Microsoft Azure
  • Implement and support enterprise networking equipment, including Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls, Cisco switches, and Cisco, Meraki, or Ubiquiti wireless access points
  • Support endpoint threat-management solutions such as Sophos or similar technologies
  • Balance client projects, support tickets, and research and development initiatives
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to procedures, wiki articles, and technology build standards
  • Follow organizational rules, guidelines, and strict change-control procedures
  • Review and recommend new and emerging technologies for potential adoption within the Atlas Technica technology stack
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of relevant IT experience in desktop support, systems engineering, systems administration, or a related area
  • Strong experience providing end-user and desktop support within Microsoft Windows environments
  • Significant experience with the Microsoft 365 technology stack, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platforms, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Experience supporting endpoint threat-management solutions such as Sophos or a similar product
  • Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, LAN, DMZ, WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, and firewalls
  • Experience supporting workloads and services within Microsoft Azure
  • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise networking equipment
  • Previous experience working within a Managed Service Provider environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively balance projects, support tickets, and research and development initiatives
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Austin, Texas
  • Ability to complete the physical requirements of the position, including lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds; sitting or standing for extended periods; pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; using hands and fingers to handle equipment; reaching above the head or below knee level; and working around machinery or material-handling equipment

  • Experience supporting clients within the financial services industry
  • Familiarity with financial market applications such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, and Capital IQ
  • Significant experience working within an MSP environment, particularly with the ConnectWise suite of products
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience supporting Citrix XenApp or similar technologies
  • Experience with technology vendors and platforms such as Google Workspace, Box, Dropbox, Duo, Okta, and AirWatch
  • Experience with cybersecurity solutions such as Carbon Black, Cylance, CrowdStrike, or CyberHat
  • Experience with Mimecast or other email security gateway solutions such as Cisco IronPort or Proofpoint
  • Advanced knowledge of storage and virtualization platforms such as Nimble, Pure Storage, NetApp, Dell EMC, VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix Hypervisor
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation frameworks, including PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Advanced understanding of high-level infrastructure design
  • Ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement new and emerging technologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
