Job description

BEPC is actively looking for Senior Systems Engineer, in Tucson, AZ area! 

W2 Contract – 4 months with possible extensions! The contract may be renewed into 2027, based on candidate performance and business needs.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 

Pay Rate: $50.00 - $60.00/hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly) 

Work Model: This is a fully onsite position.

 

Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C, C2H will not be considered


Summary of the Role: 

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Systems Engineer to join our client’s onsite team in Tucson, AZ. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex electro-mechanical devices and systems.

This role will support the design, development, testing, and evaluation of complex systems. Responsibilities include design concept generation, participation in design reviews, development and testing against design specifications, reliability testing, assessment of system interactions, manufacturing process development, troubleshooting, and implementation of engineering solutions.

The Senior Systems Engineer is expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, make independent engineering decisions, and apply intensive and diversified engineering knowledge to complex assignments.


Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering & Design

  • Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of design principles, practices, and implementation for complex systems.
  • Generate design concepts and participate in design reviews.
  • Develop and test systems to assess performance against design specifications.
  • Perform reliability testing and evaluate system interactions.
  • Make independent engineering decisions.
  • Apply advanced engineering knowledge to assigned projects.
  • Participate in defining new components, products, or processes and identifying technical challenges.
  • Create potentially patentable system components or processes.
  • Plan and execute assigned engineering projects.
  • Execute experiments and participate in experimental design.
  • Utilize Design of Experiments (DoE) where appropriate.
  • Participate in technical team activities.
  • Share technical knowledge and expertise with others.
  • Participate in project planning, process updates, and experimental design.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations of project results.
  • Monitor work quality and promote Quality First Time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Testing & Data Analysis

  • Develop Test Methods and Test Method Validation (TMV) activities.
  • Develop comprehensive testing plans.
  • Execute hands-on testing protocols.
  • Develop test beds.
  • Analyze digital outputs from sensors.
  • Perform data analysis, including Python coding.
  • Author detailed technical protocols and reports.
  • Apply troubleshooting skills to complex systems and test environments.


Manufacturing & Troubleshooting

  • Assist in developing manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot engineering issues to determine root cause and identify appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Manage the defect lifecycle, including collection, documentation, tracking, and summarization for the development partner.


Main Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Preferred disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Software Engineering.
Experience: 

  • Approximately 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems or devices.
  • Experience in an FDA- or FAA-regulated environment is a strong plus.
  • Medical device industry experience is ideal.
  • Risk and requirements management
  • Technical writing, including protocols, reports, and other technical documentation
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex systems
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical devices
  • Test Method Development and/or Test Method Validation (TMV)
