M&J is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform daily field inspections on District Department of Transportation (DDOT) transportation projects, documenting quantities and work progress while verifying materials/testing, work zone traffic control, safety, and environmental compliance.

ย Responsibilities

Perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. Monitor contractor operations including grading, drainage, paving, utilities, streetscape improvements, ADA ramps, andย  ย  ย traffic control devices. Prepare Daily Inspection Reports documenting contractor activities and installed quantities. Verify materials used on the project meet required specifications. Coordinate materials testing and verify results. Monitor maintenance of traffic operations and jobsite safety. Report construction issues to the Senior Inspector or Resident Engineer. Maintain accurate field documentation for project records.

Qualifications

Required

Minimum 3-7 years of transportation construction inspection experience. NICET Level I or II - Transportation Construction Inspection. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I. DDOT Work Zone Traffic Control certification or ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT). District Erosion and Sediment Control Certification.

Preferred

Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification. OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training. Materials testing certifications for asphalt or soils.
