Job description

RK&K is seeking a dedicated and strongSenior Roadway Inspectorfor a wide range of Construction projects inWilmington and Georgetown, Delaware. The ideal Leader will have at least five years inspection experience including roadway and structure construction methods, materials, standards and specifications. Essential Function

  • Provide construction management supervision and leadership to other inspectors
  • Inspection and monitoring of roadway structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Fully engage in solving problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions while independently coordinating and directing all phases of construction inspection of complex projects
  • Record-keeping, scheduling and reporting as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least five (5) years of roadway/building inspection experience for construction methods, materials, standards and specifications
  • Construction project management experience
  • Experience with recruiting and placing CEI staff with municipal clients
  • Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
  • DelDOT Material Certifications
  • Knowledge of materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Application of mathematical formulas and engineering principles
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver's license and favorable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs.Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
