Description of Position

The Senior Project Superintendent will provide overall field leadership, planning, program implementation, coordination, and compliance to ensure the safe, quality construction of the Work of Project, on schedule, within budget, proactively focused on Client’s expectations and concerns

Organizational Relationships 

The Project Superintendent reports to Director of Construction, Sr. Superintendent, Project Executive. Normal inside contacts will include: all employees of CF Evans field and project management team. Outside contacts will include: subcontractors, vendors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, and clients.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce CF Evans corporate safety, quality, and schedule / production management programs, as well as project planning and customer service programs, for the Work of the Project

  • Ensure entire field and project team have a thorough understanding of project-specific contract documents (esp., IFC drawings, specifications, submittals, etc.) for the Work of the Project

  • Ensure entire field and project team have a clear understanding of all aspects of subcontractor trade work, including means and methods, as well as vendor-supplied materials, equipment, services, etc. to ensure competent coordination and successful installation for the Work of the Project; Proactively identify and isolate matters of risk and expediently solve problems  

  • Develop, implement and enforce: Contract and 3 week schedules; project controls for subcontract trade work, vendor-supplied materials, equipment, services, etc., and third party activities, including but not limited to pre-planning, monitoring, and inspection; Lead weekly and monitor daily coordination meetings to ensure requirements for the Work of the Project are met; Create contingency plans

  • Provide and enforce clear understanding of the cost of putting work into place, the critical importance of monitoring labor productivity on a daily basis, and an awareness of costs attributed to non-conformance delays and rework for the Work of the Project; Ensure and monitor required documentation    

  • Proficiently utilize and leverage technology tools and solutions to ensure consistent and reliable results, gain efficiencies, and improve project team performance

  • Implement and enforce daily goal setting and accountability with subcontract trade work supervisors by setting direction, aligning resources, and motivating and inspiring

Requirements of the Position

  • Education & Certification Related education and/or experience; OSHA 30 completion card

  • Recommended Work Experience 5-15 years relevant experience in multifamily construction

  • Physical Demands Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching (with arms and hands), handling, talking, hearing, depth perception, lifting, vision (close, peripheral, depth, ability to adjust focus), and lifting/moving up to 35+ pounds

  • Working Conditions Considerable local and non-local travel may be required; Work with a group and/or team; Frequent conflict situations may be present; Work after normal business hours; Potential hazardous work; Frequent exposure to extreme outside weather conditions and high levels of noise
