In the role of Civil/Structural Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:
  • Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for transportation infrastructure, buildings, and facilities
  • Conduct inspection of site civil and structural field work.
  • Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
  • Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, performing in-place soil compaction testing, asphalt testing, etc.
  • Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of construction inspection of major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as PANYNJ, MTA, NJTA, and NJDOT are required.
  • Excellent Organizational and communication skills
  • PE license in New York or New Jersey
  • OSHA 30-hour training
  • ACI Concrete Special Inspection and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certifications
  • Preference given to local candidates

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
