What We're Looking For:

As a Senior applications engineer you will contribute to the architecting, evaluation, improvement, and support of system solutions in the retail point of sale market. Ensuring that our Advanced Data Capture products work seamlessly with our customers point of sale systems.
In this role you will: provide training to our partners and customers and assist in the system integration of advanced data capture products to provide validated and tested solutions. This position will work very closely with the product management and engineering teams.
Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in Holtsville, NY office (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).

• Serve as experienced vision technical resource and initial escalation point for internal andexternal stakeholder teams
• Address key challenges related to the performance of our organization's products and solutions inspecific application scenarios.
• Evaluate product performance and usability challenges in order to identify the core issue andeliminate the problem
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product management teams to communicate resolutionand ensure fixes are validated and become available in a future release
• Provide analysis and input on how products/solutions can best meet or exceed customer/partnerbusiness requirements, as well as on how they perform/compared to competitive options
• Assist in the planning and analysis of strategic customer projects to ensure that they areeffectively executed.
• Ensure appropriate Zebra products/features are incorporated in order tomaximize customer benefit and business value.
• Help manage and maintain company vision labs, as well as remote testing infrastructure, in orderto ensure the ability to respond to product/solution challenges and opportunities rapidly andeffectively.
• Represent the product management organization as a technical customer/partner contact; oftenassist with application deployments with the guidance of more senior colleagues.
• May be asked to engage with product management colleagues to communicate market needsand inform and influence some aspects of the product portfolio and roadmap.
• Contributes to the development of technical training
• Develops and documents solution deployment processes as needed and communicates tostakeholders
• Designs/architects system demonstrations to ensure that products/solutions are represented in ahighly professional and effective manner at internal and external events.
• For high priority opportunities, may be asked to assist sales team/partners with deploymentand/or testing on site at customer location.
• Provides moderate Tier 3 technical support for partners/customers, escalating more complexchallenges to senior colleagues.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience working with advanced data capture and retail point of sale solutions.
• Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts like schematics, wiring, hand tools,etc.
• Knowledge of basic imaging concepts.

• Advanced Degree
• Knowledge of retail point of sale processes and environments
  Knowledge of - and experience with - coding languages like Windows, Linux, Python, etc
• Travel will be 30% or more.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration experience
• Strategic Mindset: A keen awareness of the competitive landscape in mobile AI and the ability to translate that knowledge into forward-looking technical strategy.
• Hands-on electrical engineering experience including working with schematics, wiring,hand tools, etc.
• Hands-on experience with machine vision, computer vision, or image processing including setting up cameras, lensing, lighting, filters, focal lengths, etc.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and/or logistics processes and environments a plus
• Licenses/Certifications, special qualifications:
  o Experience with Windows OS's such as Win7/Win10
  o Experience with Linux OS and common Linux toolsets and scripting languages
  o General understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial automation systems
  o Certified Vision Professional - Basic a plus

Pay Range:

$108,960.00 - $163,440.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 12% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
