Job Overview:

Pay Range: $65.00hr - $72.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Associate degree, technical certification, CAD/drafting certificate, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of CAD experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, facility, or equipment installation environments.
  • Advanced AutoCAD capability for 2D layouts, plant utilities, equipment layouts, installation drawings, and contractor scope drawings.
  • Working proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Inventor, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Autodesk Forma.
  • Ability to create manufacturing-ready and construction-ready drawing packages.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, utility, facility, equipment layout, and vendor drawings.
  • Experience incorporating redlines, field verification results, as-built updates, and drawing revisions.
  • Knowledge of drawing standards, title blocks, layers, naming conventions, revision control, drawing registers, and release workflows.
  • Ability to review supplier, contractor, and vendor drawings for dimensional accuracy and installation feasibility.
  • Experience creating complete fabrication and installation documentation packages using Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD 2D.
  • Ability to develop 3D assembly models, assembly drawings, detail drawings, fabrication prints, parts lists, and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Practical application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5, including datum structures and dimensional tolerances.
  • Experience developing fabrication packages from engineering concepts, sketches, and field conditions.
  • Support for layout integration, utility routing, equipment access, and installation constraints.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including field walkdowns and contractor coordination.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise, and maintain 2D CAD drawings and 3D models under project standards.
  • Develop facility, utility, process equipment, and installation layouts across mechanical, electrical, piping, HVAC, and production equipment scope.
  • Support fixture, jig, sub-assembly, fabrication, and manufacturing-aid drawings.
  • Create contractor-ready packages for installation, quotation, procurement, fabrication, construction, and bidding.
  • Define equipment locations, tie-in points, utility routing, dimensions, elevations, and access clearances.
  • Support assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, Bills of Material, and parts lists.
  • Incorporate engineer markups, contractor redlines, field verification results, and as-built updates.
  • Verify field conditions when existing drawings do not match actual conditions.
  • Identify layout, constructability, access, maintainability, safety, and production-flow concerns.
  • Coordinate drawing and model updates with production, maintenance, safety, vendors, and contractors.
  • Maintain CAD files, drawing registers, revisions, and document-control records.
  • Support production and installation teams through drawing updates, issue resolution, and field walkdowns.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing, or construction management.
  • Autodesk certification, ASME Y14.5/GD&T training, or OSHA 10 certification.
  • Autodesk Vault experience, including lifecycle and release workflows.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, CATIA, or MicroStation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or UniDraf for electrical and schematic updates.
  • Automotive, battery, clean room, or high-volume automated production experience.
  • Experience with new plant startups or brownfield equipment installation.
  • Knowledge of facility utilities such as compressed air, chilled water, process exhaust, and power distribution.
  • Experience with CAD automation, drawing templates, or mentoring junior technicians.
