You will perform component selection, CAD design work, analysis including FEA, detailed BOM and Operator and User Manuals. The Engineer collaborates with other SpecSys engineers and manufacturing along with project managers to ensure the On Time - On Budget - Done Right - Done Safely aspects of the project assigned.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Verifying the design meets performance and configuration specificationsContract management to verify the project is completed on time and on budgetCustomer management to understand expectations and standardsProviding work instructions for engineers, designers and draftersCoordinating resources of project teamsDeveloping and updating project timelinesProviding performance and status of projects in timely fashion to managementPerforming engineering calculations to verify compliance with design requirementsProviding technical data to the client, engineers, designers, drafters, operations and managementOverseeing requisite project analysis to verify qualitative integrityDirecting preparation and presentation of progress reports for the customerPreparing project review booklets and present to the customerSpecifying and sourcing purchase components to be usedSpecifying materials to be used in designDeveloping design concepts to perform project function reviewsWorking on multiple CAD packagesReviewing CAD models for completeness, interferences, and manufacturabilityReviewing detail drawings for completeness, accuracy, and client standardsReviewing and update model and drawing tolerancesGenerating and reviewing bill of materials for completenessUpdating and tracking action / issue itemsJOB REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS: Leadership skills and the ability to guide and manage other engineersStrong mechanical aptitudeWell organizedHas experience with design of mobile equipment systems and/or heavy machineryHas the ability to interact at a management level with Manufacturing Operations, Sales, Clients, and QualityEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBS or MS engineering degree in mechanical, agriculture, electrical or aerospace engineering disciplines8+ years of proven project experienceHas an MBA, MS in engineering, or other advance degree is appreciated and valued, but not requiredOr has any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performanceMany tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department.
