Description

FEV North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer, hands-on technical contributor responsible for building, maintaining and scaling automated test frameworks for embedded software running on computer platform. The role focuses on developing a robust automated test cases based on system requirements, validating embedded to network communications and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO11783, J1939, ISO25119 and NMEA 2000. In addition to executing test automation, will mentor junior team members, share best practices and serve as a subject-matter expert on advanced software testing methods as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate test requirements, based on specifications, standard procedures, and internal/external requirements. 
  • Design, create and run automated test cases. 
  • Develop test plans and procedures. 
  • Execute and document tests. 
  • Identify and recommend test equipment, production equipment, fixturing, or tooling needed to meet product specifications. 
  • Prepare reports of testing data, evaluate, and provide recommendations based on findings. 
  • Lead or contribute input for improvements. 
  • Train team members on utilization of test equipment and procedures. 
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications. 
  • May assist with the request for quote process, as related to needs for the testing function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in software test automation for embedded systems. 
  • Strong proficiency in Python with 5+ years of experience for test case development and framework automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Vector tools such as CANoe/CANalzyer or like CAN tools. Experience with Qt/QML/Squish or equivalent GUI automation tools. 
  • Familiarity with virtualization/emulation environments. 
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and standards such as but not limited to: ISO11783 (ISOBUS), J1939. Experience with git and supporting CI/CD tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Robot Framework or similar test automation frameworks. 
  • Experience with Linux and build system/project frameworks such as Yocto. 
  • Background in agricultural embedded systems. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers. 
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and collaborate across global teams.
  •  Experience in C++
