Job description

Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Senior Composite amp; Fabrication Specialist to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians, and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a Senior Composite amp; Fabrication Specialist with strong experience in aerospace composites, layup, and repair. This role involves hands-on fabrication, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver high-quality composite structures and assemblies.
The selected Senior Composite amp; Fabrication Specialist will have responsibility for the following areas:
  • Fabricate composite components and tooling, including bond prep, tool prep, mold release application, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, finishing, and repairs.
  • Perform core fabrication and bonding operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication challenges in collaboration with engineers and technicians.
  • Manage perishable materials, ensuring proper handling, traceability, and adherence to expiration/out-time requirements.
  • Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Operate hand tools and fabrication equipment (e.g., grinders, drills, sanders, saws, routers).
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, scales) to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Support the building and testing of custom fixtures and assemblies with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Operate autoclaves, ovens, and other production equipment.
  • Ability to run laser projection equipment designed for composite layup.
  • Follow FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control procedures in critical environments.
  • Complete and maintain required job-specific qualifications.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in aerospace composite manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly
  • Hands-on experience with composite layup, assembly, or tooling.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous, repetitive physical tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; familiarity with Costpoint is a plus).
  • Prior military experience preferred.
  • FAA Airframe amp; Powerplant (A amp;P) License preferred.
  • Experience working in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment preferred.
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required. Active clearance preferred.
