Position Summary

The CNC Machinist - ProtoTRAK will set up, program, and operate ProtoTRAK mills and CNC lathes while producing precision components to engineering specifications. The successful candidate will perform first-piece inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain equipment, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate ProtoTRAK CNC mills and CNC lathes.
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, CAD models, and process instructions.
  • Perform tool setup, offsets, work holding, and machine adjustments.
  • Inspect first articles and production parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Document production activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ProtoTRAK, HAAS, or Mazatrol controls.
  • G-code programming knowledge.
  • Prototype, toolroom, or low-volume/high-mix machining experience.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and inspection techniques.
  • 5 years of CNC machining experience preferred.
