Description:
  • The CNC Laser & Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC laser cutting and Press Brake equipment to cut, bend, and form metal components to specification. This role includes programming, machine setup, inspection, and quality verification while ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate production. The operator makes decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and operation sequence.
Requirements:

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain CNC laser cutting machines and press brake equipment safely and efficiently
  • Set up machines, including tooling installation, material loading, and program selection
  • Program CNC machines, build nests, and adjust machine settings as needed
  • Determine proper tooling, set stops/guides, and configure CNC units for forming operations
  • Load/unload materials using overhead crane and/or forklift
  • Perform cutting, bending, and forming operations to meet specifications
  • Inspect, test, and measure parts; document results and ensure quality standards are met
  • Detect and report defective materials and non-conforming parts
  • Verify material thickness, dimensions, and tolerances
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and identify worn or damaged tooling
  • Work across multiple workstations as production needs require
  • Perform secondary operations such as drilling, tapping, sawing, grinding, sanding, and deburring.

  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (CNC laser and/or press brake preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
  • Proficiency with tape measure and basic math (fractions, decimals)
  • Experience with CNC programming/software preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machinery and tooling
  • Experience with ERP systems (CSI/Syteline a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving skills


Communication and Language skills:

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Effective communication with supervisors and team members
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude


Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching
  • Frequent use of hands for tools and controls
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently
  • Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
