Job description

Own Your Career as a Field Service Representative

We know field service is demanding and takes the right person. That’s exactly why the right people thrive here.

As a Field Service Representative, you’ll apply your technical, electrical, and mechanical skills in real-world environments where uptime matters. You’ll install, troubleshoot, train, and support customers on advanced machinery and software, often under pressure. But you won’t do it alone: Stiles backs you with strong training, a nationwide network of experienced teammates, responsive leadership, and fair compensation for your work, travel, and time.

If you take pride in solving problems, working independently while being part of a high-achieving team, and tackling new challenges in different environments, Stiles is where your skills and talent can shine—and be valued.

About Stiles Machinery

For more than 60 years, Stiles has helped manufacturers across North America increase efficiency and productivity. We deliver world-class technology backed by the largest support teams in the industry. With an extensive parts inventory, unique upgrade services, and a nationally accredited education and training program, Stiles builds solutions around our customers’ needs and supports them long after installation.

Stiles brings deep expertise across a wide range of materials, including wood, plastics, composites, carbon fiber, glass, stone, and nonferrous metals. Our innovative technologies and service-driven approach support customers in aerospace, transportation, alternative energy, architecture and structural elements, furniture, retail fixtures, and other manufacturing industries.

Stiles Machinery is proud to have a nationwide team serving customers across the country. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Stiles operates regional offices in High Point, North Carolina; North Wales, Pennsylvania; Coppell, Texas; and Rancho Cucamonga, California.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, start up, and instruct customers on technology represented by Stiles
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in the field
  • Document work performed, problems encountered, and customer concerns clearly and promptly
  • Recommend improvements pertaining to reliability, performance, and long-term operation
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and serve as a technical partner and problem solver, not just a service call
  • Assist in training customers and Stiles service representatives on proper equipment use and maintenance
  • Maintain showroom equipment and assist with customer demos as needed
  • Continuously develop your skills and knowledge of the technology you’re working on while working alongside vendor technicians and experienced Stiles team members
  • Regional travel averaging four days per week, with overtime and mileage reimbursement

What You Can Expect from Stiles

  • Competitive pay
  • A comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and retirement options
  • Nationally accredited training programs, ongoing technical development, and clear paths for career growth within and outside of service
  • A team that understands the demands of field service because many of our leaders have been service representatives themselves
  • Prompt overtime and mileage reimbursement

What You’ll Need

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly
  • A flexible schedule and a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
  • Two years of technical schooling in electronics or a related field, equivalent hands-on experience, a related associate’s degree, or a willingness to learn
  • Prior experience in CNC, PC-based controls, machine service, maintenance, or operation or completion of a Field Service training program

Why You Should Apply

Because here, your work matters to customers, to your teammates, and to your future. We’ll provide you the support to own your own career and build on your skills, the trust to do meaningful work, and the opportunity to grow—whether that means advancing into leadership or exploring new roles across different departments.
