Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead design and project management efforts across water and wastewater systems. This role involves managing complex projects from concept through completion, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring junior engineers—all while delivering resilient infrastructure solutions for our municipal and state clients.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage water and wastewater engineering design projects from concept through completion.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, blueprints, aerial photography, and geotechnical data to plan and design projects.
  • Assess and identify collection/distribution system performance issues; develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, engineering cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Perform hydraulic design, sewer rehabilitation planning, pump station design, and treatment process engineering.
  • Review designs for quality, accuracy, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including environmental scientists, GIS specialists, and construction managers—to ensure seamless execution.
  • Attend client meetings, provide project updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of professional engineering experience in water/wastewater design and project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:

  • MD Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
  • Experience with municipal, county, or state government projects

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Water Resources Team Lead and offers clear opportunities for career advancement into Senior Project Manager or Practice Lead positions.
Work Location

This position will be based out of our Lanham, MD office with hybrid flexibility. Occasional travel may be required for project and client engagements.
