Strategic Data Systems (SDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Security Engineer to support a DoN customer. Strategic Data Systems is an experienced technical solutions provider for the Navy, Marine Corps, DoD, and other federal customers. Our mission is to provide exceptional technical capabilities, management, and support to the warfighter.

This role provides technical leadership for security and systems administration, including the design, deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of security solutions in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.

The ideal candidate possesses expertise in vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, STIG implementation, system accreditation, and audits to ensure secure, compliant IT environments across DoD and Navy systems

Responsibilities
  • Design, install, configure, and manage security solutionsfor Navy IT environments.
  • Conductvulnerability analysis and risk assessmentsto identify and mitigate security threats.
  • PerformSCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) scansand implementSTIGs to harden systems.
  • Executevirus and malware scans, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
  • Support theaccreditation and auditing of systems, maintaining compliance withDoD and Navy security frameworks.
  • Troubleshootsecurity incidents, access control issues, and system vulnerabilitiesto maintain a resilient IT environment.
  • Providetechnical guidance and cybersecurity best practicesto IT and security teams
Required Qualifications
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in relation to IT security with the DoD or Navy. Experience with vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, SCAP scans, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, scanning for viruses and other software that is detrimental.
  • experience with SIEM tools, endpoint security solutions, and intrusion detection systems
  • Qualified experience in accreditation of systems and audits. Conducts and leads TEMPEST testing using approved test plan, the production test procedures and the current National TEMPEST Standard
  • This position is required to hold IAM III certifications ( CISM or CISSP)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
