Job description

Sr Principal Software Security Engineer โ€“ Tucson, AZ

Position at RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, for the Software Security Sensors and Effectors (S3E) Department.

Responsibilities
  • Develop realโ€‘time missile software and embedded applications in C/C++ on diverse platforms.
  • Apply system security principles to the design and implementation of missile software applications.
  • Work with Systems Security Engineering to define and implement requirements.
  • Support program ability to leverage specific capabilities in a common development environment.
  • Interface with customer community to review technical design and verify system maturity.
  • Assess performance implications of systemโ€‘security implementations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in STEM and a minimum of 10 years of relevant software experience.
  • Strong experience with C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar embedded processors.
  • Experience with embedded OS such as VxWorks, Embedded Linux or equivalents.
  • Embedded software security experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. security clearance prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Validation and verification of software applications.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix, FPGA interfacing, lowโ€‘level memory drivers, interโ€‘processor communication, ARM architecture, secure boot, cryptographic algorithms.
  • Experience with realโ€‘time securityโ€‘oriented solutions on DoD programs.
  • Use of securityโ€‘relevant tools and devices for auditing, network, host, communication, or policy management.
  • Agile/DevSecOps experience including Scrum/Kanban, configuration management, bug tracking, Python/Perl.
  • Knowledge of modern CPU architectures and hardware technologies (PCIe, GPIO, IยฒC, SATA, FPGAs, ASICs).
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $132,400 โ€“ $251,600. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance, parental leave, paid time off, holidays, incentive compensation, and educational assistance.
