Job description

Perform all cataloging duties, help manage, track, and report on the daily processes and decisions associated with accurate and concise part cataloging.
Essential Job Duties
  • Work with outside data partners to process and validate their information.
  • Research part application information based on year, make, model, submodel and other vehicle attributes as needed.
  • Create new part application records from various sources (VIN decoding, ACES database, salvage part interchange, Aftermarket parts).
  • Manage a positive business relationship with vendor partners in order to maintain favorable status.
  • Create and submit data correction requests to vendor partners as needed.
  • Track and report on data correction request resolutions.
  • Create and Maintain documentation for the various types of Interchange Contribution, OE Number and ACES data conflicts, and the resources used and steps taken to resolve them.
  • Help train and mentor Automotive Application Analysts in the proper choice and use of LKQ systems and tools.
  • Develop methodology for and conduct testing on existing application records, then make corrections as necessary.
  • Suggest new models to be considered for in-depth research projects based on field demand and available research from other sources.
  • Manage the creation and tracking of Inventory Resolution projects.
  • Utilize Excel for data manipulation and reporting, including creating pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas to streamline tasks and enhance efficiency.
  • Analyze and utilize data insights to identify trends and support process improvements, including the creation of detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
  • Explore opportunities for automating cataloging processes to save time and improve accuracy, leveraging knowledge of AI where applicable.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule and review work, but have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance and/or make pay decisions.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience required; Fully competent professional; In-depth knowledge and experience; Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in the automotive aftermarket and/or salvage industries.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including creating pivot tables, using VLOOKUP XLOOKUP, excel functions and other advanced formulas.
  • Data analytics skills, including the ability to analyze data, create reports, and utilize insights for decision-making and process improvement.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with Hollander interchange, Mitchell Repairmate, or ACES information standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive makes, models, and parts.
  • Knowledge of AI and automation is a plus. Familiarity with creating algorithms, automating processes, and improving accuracy and efficiency is desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.
  • Results are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
  • Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
