Job Title: Sr. Business Intelligence Developer 

Location: 4820 Lake Brook Drive, Ste. 300, Glen Allen, VA 23060

Job Description: Analyze, design and code solutions that support the property and casualty insurance industry. Provide data development at a complex level and perform ETL, cube creation, ad hoc and management reporting, as well as dashboard and data extract creation. Create design specifications that demonstrate an understanding of interfacing systems and business data processes and/or structures. Routinely propose improvements to data processes and/or structures to improve supportability or usability. Produce significant new system functionality or defect resolution, and provide recommendations to ensure proper utilization and efficiency. Solve business issues based on experience and knowledge of current technology. Perform peer review on any changes in the system and determine how changes impact other systems. Design and deliver reports, dashboards, datasets and related applications. Utilize Microsoft's SQL Server, SSRS and Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services to build appropriate solutions. Identify and troubleshoot complex SQL code. Utilize BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Explain tasks and technical processes clearly and concisely to non-technical business associates. Mentor junior team members. Up to 20% telecommuting permitted.

Qualifications

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field

Experience Requirement: Five (5)  years of experience as a BI developer, database developer, or related

Special Skills: Must have work experience in each of the following:

RDBMS and SQL Server; Microsoft SQL Server stack (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS); Data engineering and BI development within property and casualty insurance; Tableau reporting and administration; and Design and deliver reports, dashboards, datasets and related applications for compliance, financial and operation insurance reporting within property and casualty insurance.
