Job description

ATCS's Construction Services group is expanding in Virginia! We are looking for Senior Bridge Inspectors to join our team in the Culpeper area. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in inspecting bridges and similar structures using engineering skills to determine structural soundness and compliance with NBIS, and other local, state and federal regulations.
This work is in Culpeper, VA and the surrounding areas extending down to Charlottesville.
Bridge Inspector duties include:
  • Support preparation of bridge inspections by collecting bridge reports and data, gathering equipment, coordinating inspection routes, etc.
  • Perform inspection work of bridges and foundations as required for structural integrity, general safety, ensuring continued compliance to specifications and codes (such as National Bridge Inspection Standards and FHWA bridge inspection metrics).
  • Compile necessary reports for Inspection Team Leaders to review
  • Conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, infrastructure, and transportation channels, etc. to determine compliance with rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
  • Receive additional direction from Team Leaders, Project Managers or other senior-level Technical staff.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is desired but not required
  • Previous bridge construction inspection training or certifications desired
  • Willingness to travel within Virginia
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Valid Drivers๏ฟฝ License

The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
