Senior Bridge Engineer
Department: Transportation

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will support the engineering design of structures. You will provide top-of-the-industry engineering services that are verified through a rigorous QC process. You will create connections with team members. Your efforts will support in developing client relationships through utilizing cutting-edge technology, innovation, and designing infrastructure that will last.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
  • Design, evaluate, and analyze highway bridges
  • Prepare designs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and specifications
  • Work in cooperation with bridge staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies, and state DOTs
  • Perform bridge designs and load ratings using spreadsheets, finite element software and/or other bridge software
  • Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, wall systems, and minor structures
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure client objectives are met
  • Experience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, and other North American design codes
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Assist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation and structural engineering
  • Structures lead for projects, coordinating staff and design efforts

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Masters a plus
  • Registered PE, SE required
  • 12+ years experience
  • Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices, some travel required--<10%
  • Experience working in bridge design team
  • Design Build and Alternative Delivery experience a plus
  • Established relationships with local clients (WSDOT/ITD) a plus
  • Solid understanding of transportation projects
