Job description

Description:

The Senior Automation Technician will troubleshoot and repair equipment related to Electronics and programmable logic controller (PLC) breakdowns. The candidate will also be responsible to maintain related documentation, program records and related software.

Day Shift - 12-hour rotating schedule (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM)


Essential Functions:

  • Handle the installation and troubleshooting of Control and Mechanical Systems, in order to automate upstream and downstream processing equipment i.e.: Mixers, Coaters, Pouchers, Cartoners, Packaging Lines, Laboratory Equipment, Facility Systems, Stability Chambers, BMS, Water System Controls, Tablet Press, Fluid Bed Dryers, Granulators, and Vision Systems as well as upload and download PLC programs.
  • Perform hands-on field installation, operational start-up, calibration, and commissioning activities.Interfaces daily with shift leader and technician at shift change. Maintains cleanliness of all equipment. Assists shift lead in maintaining quality of finished product through proper machine operation. Responsible for maintaining spare parts inventory with a proper cataloging of parts. Provide a timely notification to shift lead of maintenance issues and downtime. Reviews line history and documentation to enhance line efficiencies. Follows escalation plan to minimize downtime. Maintains and updates all equipment log books with accurate repair/adjustment information.
  • Improve and monitor automation processes for optimum cost efficiency of production.
  • Provide support as a field technician, bench technician, robotics technician, production support technician and maintenance technician, on an as needed. Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
  • Fully comprehend, verify, and develop P&ID, Engineering Layout, Engineering Drawings and Engineering documents.
  • Provide automation and technical support on an on-going basis, which includes troubleshooting functions, and being on-call to ensure service.

Education:

  • High School or GED - Required

  • Vocational/Technical concentration in Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Electrical Circuits, Electrical Machinery, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), or a related technical field - Required

Experience:

  • Must have 7 years or more of relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing plant, printing, food, pharmaceutical, or other technology-driven industry. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or a related field may qualify with 5 years or more of relevant experience.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. In addition, Amneal offers a short-term incentive opportunity, such as a bonus or performance-based award, with this position within the first 12 months. Amneal ranges reflect the Company's good faith estimate of what Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors, including but not limited to, qualifications, experience, geographic location and other relevant skills.
