Job Summary
ACCO Brands is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager who will report to the Sr Director, Global Portfolio and Project Management and Data Management as part of the Global Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) organization. The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple enterprise-level initiatives, working closely with business stakeholders, IT leaders, project sponsors, subject matter experts, and external vendor/system integrator partners across functional and technical teams. This role requires strong stakeholder management, disciplined project governance, proactive risk and issue escalation, tight scope control, and the ability to manage project financials, budgets, forecasts, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Provide full lifecycle management of projects, from concept through delivery and benefits realization.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and within resource constraints, following the ACCO Brands global project methodology and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure delivery meets defined business, technical, and operational requirements with a focus on quality and sustainability.
  • Actively partner with business stakeholders, IT leaders, project sponsors, and external vendor/system integrator partners to manage expectations, align priorities, resolve issues, and gain consensus on go-forward approach/plans.
  • Provide recommendations and decision support to senior leadership regarding scope, prioritization, and trade-offs impacting project outcomes.
  • Identify, document, and raise project risks and issues in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate visibility, escalation, mitigation planning, and decision support for project sponsors and senior leadership.
  • Maintain tight control over project scope, manage scope changes through formal change request processes where required, and ensure impacts to timeline, cost, resources, and benefits are clearly assessed and approved.
  • Creates and manages resource plans by providing strategic and tactical resource forecasting, providing predictive analysis of resource demands, and requests appropriate resources for project needs.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, track actual costs and variances against the approved budget, maintain accurate financial forecasts, and ensure project finances are monitored and reported in alignment with budget expectations.
  • Ensure projects follow established project governance, methodologies, communication channels, milestone reviews, decision forums, and reporting requirements.
  • Communicate project progress by producing targeted project reports to provide timely and accurate status and decision support information to project teams, project stakeholders and senior leadership. Uses subject matter expertise to articulate high-level technical status and provide status reports to the appropriate audience.
  • Identifies and resolves problems, often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions.
  • Leads stakeholder/team meetings and demonstrates confidence, control, and public speaking proficiency.
  • Identifies opportunities for streamlining and increasing effectiveness through continuous process improvement.
  • Adherence to SOX & ITGC compliance standards is expected.

Qualifications
  • 10-15 years of progressive project management experience, including planning and executing complex projects across multiple locations and geographies.
  • Formal training and a recognized qualification in a recognized project management methodology such as Six Sigma, PMP, PRINCE2, MSP.
  • Proven and demonstrable experience delivering multiple complex enterprise projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization.
  • Experience managing external vendors and system integrator partners, including oversight of deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, and performance against project commitments.
  • Deep understanding of business processes and applications/tools.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and facilitation skills including presentations to C-Suite executives, senior leadership, peer groups, and associates.
  • Ability to create and manage detailed project plans and report critical path.
  • Strong financial discipline with the ability to track project budgets, monitor spending, manage forecasts, explain variances, and support financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Must be flexible in diving into project detail, when necessary, while keeping the overall picture in mind.
  • Adept at assessing project issues and variance, responding appropriately, and driving toward the next steps for resolution.
  • Demonstrated mastery as a project manager, delivering successful enterprise projects and/or operational excellence initiatives.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000
