Job description

Metric Engineering is growing its municipal and public sector civil practice in South Florida, and we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead design, delivery, and client development for city, county, and institutional clients.
This is a senior client-facing role for an engineer who knows South Florida's public and institutional market and how to turn agency relationships into work. You will lead civil site, drainage, stormwater, roadway, and utility projects from pursuit through construction support, and help build the team behind them. You will provide support to other regional offices within Florida.
What you will do
  • Lead municipal and public sector civil assignments as senior project manager, owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Build and grow relationships with public agency staff, facilities and capital teams, and reviewers
  • Drive business development, including client pursuits, proposals, and interview presentations
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with sub-consultants and internal disciplines
  • Manage permitting through the relevant agencies (SFWMD, county, municipal, FDOT where applicable)
  • Mentor and develop staff, and help build and lead Metric's South Florida municipal and public sector practice
  • Provide quality control (QC) to ensure work meets project requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Active Florida PE license (required)
  • 10+ years of civil design and project management experience, with a strong record in municipal and public sector projects
  • Established relationships with South Florida public agencies and institutional clients preferred
  • Direct experience with South Florida agencies, permitting, and local design standards
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects, clients, and pursuits
  • Proficiency in civil design software (Civil 3D / OpenRoads or equivalent)
