Job description

Piper Health & Sciences is looking to identify a Project Manager/Senior with expected travel between Rockville, Frederick, and Gaithersburg, MD. This role manages project delivery and portfolio planning for cGMP facilities within biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager/Senior include:
  • Lead highly cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • Assemble and lead the project team and ensure team effectiveness through communication and time management.
  • Accountable for ensuring project deliverables are on time, within budget, and aligned with the quality and safety expectations of the client.
  • Utilize project management tools (such as Critical Path Method, Monte Carlo analysis, etc.) to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Communicate with Sponsors, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure administrative and financial closure of assigned site/capital projects, including putting assets into service and depreciation management.
  • Author and utilize standard procurement tools such as Statement of Work (SOW), Project Order, Letter of Intent, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), and/or Confidentially Disclosure Agreements (CDA).
  • Assemble and present materials to Site Project Portfolio Review meetings and/or Capital Review Committees as needed.
  • Manage maturation of projects and programs through Lean principles, lessons learned, and root cause analysis.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of Outsourced Service Providers, Vendors, and Contractors.

Qualifications for the Project Manager/Senior include:
  • 5+ years of project and/or program management experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related degree is required, a Master of Science is preferred.
  • Experience with capital funding is required, and experience with equipment start-up and CQV is highly desirable.
