Senior Architectural Drawing Jobs in Texas (NOW HIRING)

Marie Flanigan Interiors is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Draftsperson & Detailer to join our Houston studio. We are looking for an exceptional technical professional who is passionate about luxury residential design and has the expertise to transform design concepts into beautifully detailed, buildable construction documents.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly detailed environment, has a refined understanding of architectural proportion and craftsmanship, and takes pride in producing drawing sets that elevate design intent through precision and clarity.

Location: Houston (In-Office)
Time Requirement: Full Time – 40 hours per week

You will play a key role in translating high-end interior design concepts into fully resolved construction documentation for some of the country’s most refined custom residences. This is a hands-on technical position with significant influence on how projects are built in the field.

You will collaborate closely with designers, project managers, consultants, and fabricators throughout all phases of design and construction.

• Produce complete architectural construction document sets for luxury residential interiors.
• Develop highly detailed interior elevations for kitchens, baths, dressing rooms, libraries, built-ins, fireplaces, and specialty spaces.
• Create advanced millwork drawings, custom cabinetry documentation, trim profiles, architectural details, and bespoke construction assemblies.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings with cabinetmakers, millworkers, metal fabricators, stone fabricators, and other specialty trades.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with interior design, structural, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and other consultants.
• Review contractor RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Incorporate redlines and revisions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain and help develop firm-wide detailing standards and drawing libraries.
• Conduct field verification and site measurements as needed.
• Support design teams in resolving technical detailing challenges during all project phases.

• Minimum 6+ years of professional drafting experience in luxury residential architecture or high-end interior design.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proven experience producing:
• Interior elevations
• Millwork and cabinetry drawings
• Construction details
• Full construction document sets
• Shop drawing coordination
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and detailing.
• Experience working directly with contractors, consultants, and specialty fabricators.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
