The Senior Teamcenter Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining Siemens Teamcenter PLM solutions within an advanced Software and Enterprise Solutions team supporting U.S. Department of Defense programs.
This role focuses on Teamcenter customization, configuration, and system integration, leveraging Siemens development frameworks including BMIDE, ITK, SOA services, and Active Workspace extensions. The developer will support enterprise PLM implementations by translating business and engineering requirements into scalable Teamcenter solutions that integrate with other enterprise platforms.
The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of hands-on experience developing and customizing Siemens Teamcenter, including data model configuration, workflow automation, and integration with external systems, and has experience working within Agile development environments supporting complex engineering organizations.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into Teamcenter technical solutions and configurations.
  • Evaluate business/technical requirements for Teamcenter enhancements, extensions and integrations, providing level of effort estimates to support Agile sprint planning and cost estimation.
  • Design, develop, and deploy Teamcenter customization including:
  • BMIDE data model extensions
  • ITK custom handlers and exits
  • SOA-based services
  • Workflow templates and process automation
  • Lifecycle and status management
  • Custom actions and business rules
  • Reporting and data extraction/cleanup utilities
  • Develop and maintain Teamcenter user interfaces, including Active Workspace extensions and Rich Client customizations.
  • Support integration projects between Teamcenter and external enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, or supply chain systems, utilizing Teamcenter SOA services, Dispatcher framework, and middleware integrations.
  • Perform comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing ensuring Teamcenter configuration and customizations meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
  • Debug and resolve complex application/customization defects and issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for Teamcenter customizations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on custom Teamcenter functionalities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Siemens Teamcenter product releases, architecture updates, and industry best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently hold Siemens certifications for Teamcenter.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with Siemens Teamcenter PLM software, specifically in customization development.
  • Experience collaborating with the Siemens Technical Support & Siemens Government Technologies organizations.
  • Strong programming skills leveraging Java, JSP, J2EE, XML, JSON, and HTML5.
  • Experience developing Teamcenter Active Workspace or Rich Client extensions.
  • Experience supporting integration between Teamcenter and external enterprise systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile software development environments.
  • Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Teamcenter Dispatcher, Batch utilities, and migration tools.
  • Experience with Teamcenter installation, patching, and upgrades.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g. Oracle and SQL Server) and SQL scripting.
  • Experience with and certifications in Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with Fortify or other security scanning tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code management leveraging GIT (e.g. repo, branches, merging, conflict resolution, build hardening, and ant scripting).
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience working within Linux-based Teamcenter environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and shell scripting.
  • Experience with Teamcenter licensure, installation, patching, and upgrades.
  • Experience investigating and resolving Teamcenter performance related issues.
  • In-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Knowledge of DoD software development policies, cybersecurity requirements, and RMF compliance framework.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • This position may require the ability to travel up to 10%.

Work Environment
Employees have the flexibility to telework to fulfill their work responsibilities effectively. Additionally, travel may be required to customer and subcontractor sites as well as other office locations.
Clearance Requirements
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
