Job Summary:

Responsible for the design, development, configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities that support mission-critical business and IT service management functions. This role serves as a senior technical resource for implementing scalable, secure, and efficient ServiceNow solutions, including workflow automation, integrations, custom applications, catalog items, and platform improvements. The Senior ServiceNow Application Developer works closely with stakeholders, functional teams, and technical staff to translate business requirements into reliable platform capabilities that improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and user experience.

         Job Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, program leadership, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions.

  • Design, develop, configure, test, and maintain ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, forms, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, integrations, and related platform components.

  • Lead the development and enhancement of ServiceNow capabilities across areas such as ITSM, request management, knowledge management, asset management, CMDB, and other supported modules.

  • Maintain and optimize existing ServiceNow applications to ensure continued functionality, reliability, performance, and alignment with operational needs.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ServiceNow application functionality, workflows, integrations, system performance, and data quality.

  • Support platform governance by following established development standards, change management procedures, documentation requirements, and configuration management practices.

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and thirdparty enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, IntegrationHub spokes, MID Server, OAuth/JWT authentication, and other secure integration patterns.

  • Perform unit testing, support system integration testing, assist with user acceptance testing, and validate deployments prior to production release.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system design artifacts, knowledge articles, and user guidance related to developed solutions.

  • Provide technical support and subject matter expertise for ServiceNow-related incidents, service requests, problems, and enhancement efforts.

  • Participate in meetings with government and contractor personnel to provide status updates, technical recommendations, and solution demonstrations.

  • Support full platform administration including ACL configuration, role/access management, instance cloning, upgrades, performance tuning, AI governance controls, and operational sustainment activities to ensure continuity of service.

Qualifications:

  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

  • Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience developing, configuring, and supporting applications within the ServiceNow platform.

  • Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow scripting and development technologies, including JavaScript, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and REST/SOAP integrations.

  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, application lifecycle management, and secure development practices.

  • Experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, Service Catalog, CMDB, Asset Management, Knowledge Management, or related platform capabilities.

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Now Assist, including configuration of generative AI features, responsible AI controls, and AI-driven agents and automations.

  • Experience with AI-driven development using the ServiceNow SDK preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and end users.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.

  • Experience supporting federal environments or regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
